Just Another Someone

You look at me
Fire in your eyes
Slowly
Moving your lips
You say, matter-of-factly:
“Look at you
You can have anyone you want.”

I laugh
You see
I don’t want
Just another someone

I want somebody who’d want me
Before any drinks
Before knowing the taste of my kiss

Somebody to choose me
To be persistent enough to convince me
That if there is such as thing as destiny,
Then clearly
No doubt about it
We are meant to be

Damsel in distress
Admittedly
Always in some kind of mess
But I fight my own dragons
I don’t need a savior
But I’d still like to find my knight in shining armour,
My very own
Prince Charming.
